A Day full of Egni!

Charlie Jones

We had the pleasure of welcoming over a hundred local business owners to our Business Cost Crisis Expo, held here at M-SParc at the beginning of February.

We hosted 15 local exhibitors from across the energy & renewable sectors, with companies ranging in expertise including green finance, renewable energy installers, consultants, housing, software, and trades.

We are acutely aware of rising pressures experienced by business owners across north Wales over the past few years, with energy prices causing great concerns and difficulty, and many of the businesses also working to cut carbon emissions.

The installation of renewable energy technology, with the right installers, financing, consultation, and data management, could significantly alleviate the current and upcoming pressures experienced by local businesses.

At M-SParc, we know first-hand that investing in renewable energies, can lower costs, cut emissions, and increase energy security in an increasingly volatile energy market.

We are therefore keen for local businesses to speak with representatives across the green industry, to learn more about renewable energy, efficiency, and financing options. Additionally, we were keen for those representatives to hail from the same local area, proving that we needn’t go further afield to go green or reach Net Zero!

It was fantastic to see the M-SParc ‘tanio’ space buzzing, with connections being made, business cards being exchanged, and ideas shared! Exactly what the space was created for!

Immediately after the expo, we also hosted a Working Wales ‘Green Careers for all’ event. It was lovely to see many of the businesses stick around to discuss the future with hundreds of students and school children from across North Wales. Who knows how many of them will go on to become the next Welsh Elon Musk, or local PV installer!

Here at M-SParc, we have an in-house ‘Egni’ (Energy) team. Our sole purpose is to ignite ambition in the area for low carbon energy development. A key tenet of this mission is to engage with local businesses and assist in any way we can. We will be running regular events for businesses and students, to showcase the incredible opportunities popping up all over North Wales around renewable and low carbon energy technologies! We are now in the process of planning our Egni 2023 conference of the year! This will be on the 16th of May. You can sign up for this event here!
