We’re on a mission to become the UK’s first net-zero science park. That means reducing our carbon footprint using renewable energy and supporting the companies here that are creating low-carbon innovations. With solar panels, electric vehicle charging points, and an energy-efficient building we are on the way to reaching that goal.
We have planted over 200 Christmas trees on site, in pots so that at Christmas the trees are taken out of the ground and replanted in the new year. These trees continue to grow year after year, helping capture carbon and boosting biodiversity across the site.

Increasing the biodiversity of the site is important and also it will help us reach our net zero goals. We received over 100 trees from the Woodland Trust to expand our hedgerow and they were planted through our Clwb Sparci.
With help from Keep Wales Tidy we are creating a space for the community to enjoy the wildlife by installing wildflower beds, turning grass into a pollinator-friendly space that supports the local ecosystem and increase our biodiversity on site.
Our annual Egni Food Festival brings the community together around sustainable food. We want to showcase local Welsh producers, highlight low-carbon choices, and provide business support for food vendors.

Tom used to work at the KFC in his hometown of Colwyn Bay before it mysteriously burned down. He then spent several years “on the lam” in East Germany, where he worked as an animator in Berlin. When the wall fell, Tom came home.
He enjoys climbing and hates ice-skating.
